Learn How Trauma and Anxiety Affect the Brain?

As human beings, we all experience moments of trauma and anxiety throughout our lives. These can be caused by a variety of factors, such as losing a loved one, going through a difficult breakup, or experiencing a traumatic event. But have you ever wondered how these experiences actually affect our brains? Let's dive into the fascinating world of neurobiology and explore the impact of trauma and anxiety on the brain.

Understanding the Brain's Response to Trauma and Anxiety

When we experience trauma or intense anxiety, our brains go into what is commonly known as "fight or flight" mode. This primal response is designed to protect us from danger by releasing stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones prepare our bodies to either combat the threat head-on or flee to safety.
However, when this response is triggered repeatedly or for prolonged periods of time, it can have detrimental effects on our brains. Chronic stress can lead to changes in the structure and function of the brain, particularly in areas responsible for memory, emotions, and decision-making.

The Impact of Trauma on Brain Function

Trauma, whether physical or emotional, can have lasting effects on the brain. Studies have shown that individuals who have experienced trauma may have smaller hippocampal volumes, which can affect their ability to regulate emotions and form new memories.
Additionally, trauma can lead to an overactive amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for processing emotions. This can result in heightened fear responses and an increased risk of developing anxiety disorders.

How Anxiety Alters Brain Chemistry

Anxiety, on the other hand, can disrupt the delicate balance of neurotransmitters in the brain. Imbalances in neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine can lead to symptoms such as restlessness, irritability, and difficulty concentrating.
Chronic anxiety has also been linked to changes in the structure of the brain, particularly in the prefrontal cortex. This area of the brain is responsible for executive functions such as decision-making and impulse control. When the prefrontal cortex is compromised, individuals may struggle to regulate their emotions and behavior.

Reversing the Effects of Trauma and Anxiety on the Brain

While the effects of trauma and anxiety on the brain may seem daunting, there are ways to mitigate their impact. Therapy, mindfulness practices, and relaxation techniques have been shown to help individuals rewire their brains and foster resilience.
Engaging in regular exercise, getting an adequate amount of sleep, and maintaining a healthy diet can also support brain health and promote emotional well-being. By caring for our physical and mental health, we can build a strong foundation for healing and growth.

Conclusion

In conclusion, trauma and anxiety can have profound effects on the brain, disrupting its structure and function. By understanding how these experiences impact our brains, we can take proactive steps to support our mental health and well-being. Remember, it is never too late to seek help and begin the journey toward healing. Take care of your brain, and it will take care of you.

How to Overcome Fear in Life For Your Health

How to Overcome Fear in Life for Your Health

How to Overcome Fear Biblically?

How To fight Fears

How to Fight Fear, Stress, and Worry!

How to Remove Fear from mind and heart?

Worry and fear do not come from God but exhaust the power God gives us to face everyday problems and to carry out responsibilities. These are sinful wastes.  Fear is not God’s character but comes from the kingdom of darkness. There are 365 scriptures on fear. Fear is the opposite of faith. Scriptures that will helpyou remove fear from mind and heart.

Fret not He loves you (John 13:1)

Faint note He holds you (Psalm 139:10)

Fear not He keeps you (Psalm 121:5)

There is biblical and scientific evidence that the diseases of today are rooted in sin.  Why is it not trusting God? 1 John 4:18 says perfect love casts out fear.

Fear is the opposite of faith, and fear can manifest in worry, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, OCD, etc.  Continual fear produces dis-ease such as:

Heart disease, skin rashes, anxiety attacks, feeling overwhelmed, heart palpitations, stomach issues such as gurt, back pain, compromised immune system, anxiety and stress, colds,  etc.

Again, fear and worry are sin issues. Fear is a barrier to the promises of God. The enemy knows this and continues to get us to worry through fiery darts he cast in our thinking. The scientific community understands how our emotions affect our bodies; fear is the biggest issue.

The limbic system is where our protective emotions, including fear, originate. The process of creating fear occurs unconsciously in the brain. Then, it stimulates the entire central nervous system, releasing different chemicals – depending on the thought, good or harmful chemicals are released. Fear releases cortisol. An overabundance of Cortisol destroys the adrenal glands, causing fatigue and exhaustion, even if a person gets eight hours of sleep.

Part of your brain controls the physical response to fear. It sends a signal directly to the amygdala, which stimulates the hypothalamus to produce a corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) that triggers the pituitary gland’s discharge of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which enables the adrenal gland to secrete cortisol.  Again, Cortisol is a death hormone.

Cortisol in the bloodstream causes an increase in glucose production, providing the necessary fuel for the brain and muscles to deal with stress.

Cortisol is involved in several body functions, including:
  • Proper glucose metabolism
  • Regulation of blood pressure
  • Insulin release for blood sugar maintenance
  • Immune function
  • Inflammatory response

Fear is scientifically proven to be a cause of dis-ease. ScienceDaily (Mar. 26, 2008) states intense fear can make our blood clot and increase the risk of thrombosis or heart attack. Anxiety patients have a statistically higher risk of dying from heart disease by a factor of 3 or 4.

The Bible says fear results in heart problems: Men’s hearts fail for fear. Luke 21:26.

There are Healthy and Unhealthy Fears

Unhealthy fear is not of God but is projected from the kingdom of darkness. Fear and faith are opposites. We cannot run in a spirit of faith and a spirit of fear at the same time. We should not fear because God is with us. God said He will never leave or forsake us (Deu 31:6).

How do you Fight Fears?

When you fear something, cast your cares on the Lord because he cares 1 Peter 5:7. He also says not to worry about tomorrow and that the birds, flowers, etc., do not worry, so why should we worry?  You have to renew your means through the word of God, which is renewing the mind.  The more you counteract the fiery darts from Satan and use the Word of God, you will overcome your fears and every day worries.

Healthy fear helps us avoid life-threatening or dangerous situations that are God-given. Fear is the beginning of wisdom (Ps. 111:10).

My favorite scripture is “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18)

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim 1:7)

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Cor 10:5)

“That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days” (Deut 30:20a)

How to Fight Fears Quickly: Quench Out Fiery Darts From the Kingdom of Darkness

"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." (Ephesians 6:16).

How to Fight Fears: Praise God During Times of Stress

Instead of fretting, learn to praise the Lord in all situations and be content in all things, realizing God is for you and not against you and is working out your situation.  Faith is an active Word of God, believing in what you cannot see.  It is confidence in God and not yourself that will make everything turn out okay.

Why We Bearing Others Burdens?

False Responsibility for Others

Learn the Characteristics of a burden bearer

Why We Bearing Others Burdens?

What exactly is false burden-bearing? The Characteristic of a False burden-bearer is false responsibility for others. It is when you cannot release a person or persons to the Lord and will try to make things happen for them. You feel responsible for them and will even be their Holy Spirit.

The scripture tells us to bear our brother's burden; it means to join with them and not become a pack mule. In Galatians 6:1-5 it says:

"1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. 4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For every man shall bear his own burden."

You do want to come alongside them! We are to support them during their trials. You are not there to solve their solutions. You want to avoid becoming consumed with their thoughts over the situation and person (children, parents, or someone they care about).

False Burden Bearing is rooted in rejection! The enemy is tricky and will use your feelings of rejection to try to get you to help others so that you will feel accepted. It is meeting a need in you to help others.

Why does Satan use False Burden Bearing? Satan’s job is to rob the person of their peace and get their eyes on the situation and off of Christ. It is to overburden them. It is to get that person to get involved and become consumed. It has a plan to destroy one in spirit, body, and soul. It brings torment to man, as no other spirit can accomplish.

How to Recognize False Responsibilities

How do you know how to recognize False Burden Bearing? A person will say that they do pray for them. Check to see if your mind is thinking about that person and event throughout the day and if you are trying to devise solutions for them. If you are, then you are False Burden Bearing!

Why is False Burden Bearing Bad? When we falsely burden a person over an event, the Lord cannot come for that person because the person with the false burden is consumed in their life and is blocking God’s hand. It is a no-win situation. Satan wants to rob everyone’s peace. It also causes the other person to become codependent on the person with the false burden.

What is it really? The Word says in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast our cares to Him because he cares. If you continually think about and consume a person's situation, it is a lack of trust in the Lord. We need to be doers of the Word by applying God's word. We can pray for friends and family but then release them to the Lord. Know the Lord is going to take care of them. Put them on the altar and leave them there! If you pick them up again, give them back to the Lord. Learn to trust the Lord in all situations!

Some of the diseases coming out of False Burden Bearing:

  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Crohn's disease
  • Kyphosis
  • Back Pain
  • Scoliosis

False burden-bearing!

False burden-bearing is under the unloving spirit.  When we become someone's Holy Spirit, feel responsible for them, and don't take care of ourselves.

It will consume your thoughts about that person (their situation or need).  A person cannot release them to the Lord and will try to make things happen to them because of False Burden Bearing.

We can pray and release.  When they cannot get off their minds, false burden-bearing goes on.  Then, it has not been released to the Lord.  We should be able to pray and release them to the Lord, knowing he cares for them.  Then, do the things we need to do with peace.  When we are false burden-bearing, the Lord cannot come in because the false burden-bearing thing blocks God's moving in their lives.  Plus, it steals your peace.  It is a very subtle way that the enemy uses on his children.

That is one area I have to watch in my life.  I used to be such a big, false, burden-bearing person.  When I get into that thinking, and it has consumed me, and I cannot stop thinking about it, then I know I've gone into sin over it and have to cast it out of me.  Then, I'm able to release it much better.  If I catch myself doing it and I can give it to the Lord with faith, then I don't have to cast it out.  I've come out of agreement with it.  It has not consumed me yet.  The enemy wants to get our thoughts off Christ and be burdened with things. Also, to steal our peace and be burdened over the situation or event.

False burden Bearing - phone message

Enemy comes as an angel of light.  Many people don't see the work of the enemy in good deeds.

There are positive emotions that are against God that are right out of hell.  PPD.  Competition, etc.

FBB - take people as assignments.  They take them as successes or failures and blame themselves for not working hard enough, etc.

  • I'm not responsible for a person's disease -  I'm not the devil
  • I'm not responsible for a person's healing because I'm not God.
  • It makes me a servant.  I can only do for a person as they allow me to do.

If she feels responsible for them - she has a sympathetic nervous system.  Entered into a type of fear and self-rejection, feels personally responsible.

Sicknesses:

Guilt and fear issues.

The person becomes a god to others to help others - caretakers.  I can care for a person but not live their life for them.

He that receives the message is not greater than the one that gives it.

Don't let anyone drag you down to make you responsible for your sickness.

Philippians 25:30 he long after you all ... heaviness ... sick ...

Fear of Man in the Bible*

A Spirit Fear of Man in the Bible

Five Steps to Overcoming Fear of Man

You can break free from fear of man

Solomon tells us the “fear of man will prove to be a snare” (Proverbs 29:25). Just as an animal caught in a trap can't perform its God-given function when you or I give in to the fear of man, we can't do what God is calling us to do.

'Fear of Man' (simply) describes caring about what a man (male or female) will do to you, what the person thinks about you, how you appear to others, and whether your actions or lack of actions will please others. The torment never ends. That's one way you can recognize it. (Is there any torment in your thoughts toward that person, yourself, or God?)

Fear of man causes people to please and try to live up to their expectations. This can cause anxiety attacks.

You have to understand how the accuser of Rev.12:10 operates. We are born into a world of accusation and are so accustomed to it that we often think it's our own thoughts or even the thoughts of God. You also have to deal with victimization on many levels-generationally, yourself, and addiction (because sometimes it's such a part of our lives, we wouldn't know what to do if we were not being victimized). Rejection is also a big issue. Also, I agreed with the spirit of 'fear of evil in man.'

The best way to come out of agreement with the spirit of 'fear of man' is to agree with God's word. Here are some scriptures to start meditating on. Continue to search the scriptures for yourself and let them build your faith in God and His word.

Fear of Man Scripture

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Mat 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
Mat 10:30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Mat 10:31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Pro 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

1 Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Jesus was and is the example of this for us.

Psa 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
Psa 33:19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Psa 33:20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
Psa 33:21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Psa 33:22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Psa 60:11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Psa 60:12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

We now know who our enemies are. Eph 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

So, as we continue to do the walkout, the 5 steps to overcome the fear of man, 'the fear of man' will be recognized and defeated.

The Five Steps to Overcoming Fear of Man:

1. Recognize the negative thought of fear of man
2. Repent and renounce to come out of agreement with the fear of man
3. Remove it by casting it down - 2 Cor. 10:5 the thought of fear of man
4. Stop Replay of the fear of man
5. Reframe your thoughts with God's truth

Doubt is the opposite of Faith

Danger of Doubt and Unbelief Causing Anxiety

the opposite of faith is not doubt - the opposite of faith is fear

Doubt is the opposite of faith

The opposite of unbelief is faith. Faith is standing and believing in the things you cannot see. It is standing on the Word of God to build your faith. Unbelief is not able to believe in the things not seen. That means you cannot trust God. Is it doubt or fear? Learn that the opposite of faith is fear first then doubt.

Hebrews 3

7. Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

8. Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

9. When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

10. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

11. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

Simply put, the author says that it is the Holy Ghost speaking by

Psalms 95:7-11 7. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,

8. Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

9. When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

10. Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:

11. Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

The verses contain words of warning with a lot of urgency about them. We are called upon to give immediate attention to what is being said. We are also urged to be sensitive to the voice of the Spirit. Mainly, we are not to harden our hearts.

We are reminded of the attitude of the Israelites from the time they left Egypt until their entrance into Canaan. For 40 years, they showed a rebellious attitude, and thereby, they tested the patience of God.

Finally, God responded to their rebelliousness in holy anger. This is always God's response when we deliberately disobey His revealed will. Thus, those guilty of rebellion were excluded from the land of Canaan; they died in the wilderness. They missed the blessing of the Promised Land.

Hebrews 3

12. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.

13. But exhort(verb 1. transitive verb urge to do something: to urge somebody strongly and earnestly to do something 2. intransitive verb give earnest advice: to give somebody urgent or earnest advice) one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

The great danger we face is developing an unbelieving heart. Faith is the center of all Christian endeavors. In fact, the writer of Hebrews later said, "But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6".

The result of a sinful and unbelieving heart is apostasy(noun, renunciation of faith: the renunciation of a religious or political belief or allegiance). It leads to an attitude that refuses to cleave to, trust in, or rely upon the Lord. The ultimate outcome is a denial of faith and a forfeiture of the blessings and benefits of knowing God.

We must unite, building one another up in the Lord to all be victorious.

Sin can deceive through riches.

Matthew 13:22. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

Lusts

Ephesians 4:22. That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Philosophy

Colossians 2:8. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Unrighteousness

2 Thessalonians 2:10. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Types of Fear - three steps to combat fear

What is a spirit of Fear Verses

Fear vs. Faith

Three steps to combat fear to return to faith in God.

combat fear

There are over 4000 different types of fear, so it comes at us in many different forms. The most fearful being in creation is a Fallen Archangel, Satan, the opposite of faith. Satan knows his time is short. Faith and fear cannot coexist. They both project into the future. Faith projects good outcomes, and fear projects terrible things to happen. If you project fear, a person will become fearful daily. Fear is doubt and unbelief. So fear is the absence of faith.

Ezek 28:19
19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
(KJV)

Five common fears manifest as the following:

Fear and faith bible verses
Worry: The English word comes from the Anglo-Saxon root, meaning to choke or strangle. It is the suffocating feeling of unease that we experience when we ponder a real problem with no apparent answer. Worry results in a person who looks at life with no hope in his thinking process. When he looks at a disturbing situation, he believes he is alone in his world and is responsible for solving the problem out of the resources of his wisdom. Wrong, there is always God in the equation.

Luke 18:27 "And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
(KJV)

Anxiety: In Latin, it can mean to suffocate, press tightly, or be strange. The English word comes from the Latin anxius, which describes an inner turmoil, the troubling of the mind about an uncertain event. Fear and worry are directed toward a real and identifiable object or an object that appears natural. Anxiety produces all the same feelings, but there is no real and identifiable object; it is possible to be anxious and not to know why. It describes a constant tension over something that may or may not happen in the future.

Phil 4:4-8
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
(KJV)

Distress - bad stress: The Hebrew word means to cause misery, sorrow, suffering, to exhaust or weaken with strain. It describes a narrow, constricted canyon, which describes overcrowding, being pressed or crushed: mental and spiritual claustrophobia.

Rom 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(KJV)

Panic: The word derives from the demon god of Creek mythology, Pan, who was believed to suddenly fill people with terror. It unleashes fear and anxiety in the overwhelming flood of terror. It produces immobility of the mind, terror in the emotions, sweaty palms, palpitating heart, ringing ears, dizziness, nausea, the feeling that we are on the verge of sanity, hot flashes, chills, choking and intense loneliness.

1 Pet 3:14-15
14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
(KJV)

Timidity: From the Latin, time, to fear. This is an attribute of a person who is very easily frightened and has no self-confidence. It is the constant tendency to be afraid of everything and everyone. Here, the enemy is stealing your identity in the new birth. You have a hard time believing the truth of who God saw from the foundation of the world.

The Spirit of Fear is used to get our eyes off the promises of God, stuck looking at our situation that robs our faith.

Three steps to overcome a Spirit of Fear:

1. Recognize the lie or negative thought
2. Cast it down - disagree and throw it into the trash - 2 Cor. 10:5
3. Reframe your thoughts with God's truth and promises that combat fear and create faith to believe again.

Finding Your True Identity: Navigating the Influence of God and Man

Do you Allow Others to Define Who You Are?

Find your true identity

Have you ever found yourself allowing others, like family members, to define your identity? Many of us have experienced rejection at some point in our lives. Rejection can be seen as a projection of lies from others that we unfortunately perceive as truth. The spirit of rejection can lead us to believe things about ourselves that are simply not true. But, wouldn't you agree that rejection is the opposite of what God defines us to be?
Jesus gave his life not only for us to have everlasting life and a relationship with Him but also to give us our true identity in Him. His blood has the power to wash away the lies that we have been believing about ourselves, if only we allow Him to do so.

Rejection: A False Identity

Rejection can plant seeds of doubt in our minds and hearts, causing us to question our worth and value. When someone we care about rejects us or criticizes us, it can feel like a direct attack on who we are as individuals. This can lead to feelings of unworthiness, inadequacy, and shame. However, it is important to remember that rejection from others does not define our identity.
Our true identity is found in Christ, who sees us as beloved children, created in His image and uniquely designed for a purpose. When we allow the opinions of others to shape our identity, we are giving away our power and authority to something outside of ourselves. By focusing on God's truth about who we are, we can begin to break free from the bondage of rejection and walk confidently in our true identity.

Embracing Our Identity in Christ

When we choose to accept the identity that Christ has given us, we are free to live in the fullness of who we are meant to be. We no longer have to conform to the standards and expectations of others, but can instead walk in the truth of God's love and acceptance. By embracing our identity in Christ, we can experience freedom from the lies of rejection and step into the fullness of our calling and purpose.
So, next time you find yourself tempted to allow others to define who you are, remember that your true identity is found in Christ alone. Don't let rejection hold you back from living the abundant life that God has planned for you. Stand firm in the truth of who you are in Him, and allow His love to shape and define your identity.

Forgiving someone who hurt you

Learn Why Forgiving Someone Who Hurt You is Important

How to forgive when you are still angry and hurt

forgiving someone who hurt you

Do you go around feeling hurt and rejected? Do you struggle with anger and unforgiveness? How to handle hurt from someone in a relationship.

Does it seem like someone else has said or done something that hurts your feelings every time you turn around? Are you ready to call or email someone and tell them who broke you? Do you keep a list of rebukes you plan to share with that person as soon as you get that prime opportunity? When you lay down to try and sleep, are the events that hurt your feelings repeated in your mind? Is there someone you cannot get out of your head? Do you suddenly become angry when you see or think of a specific person?

If so, you’re not alone. I have struggled with that feeling. I know how that feels. There have been nights when I have tossed and turned, unable to sleep because I was so angry and bitter at what someone did or said. It’s miserable. It’s hard. It’s exhausting. It does damage to the soul, mind, and body. It seems so unfair as it goes on and on.

I recall going for long stretches where I would wait until someone made something right with me again. I’d hold back being friendly and sometimes refuse to speak with them. What a mess that is. I can’t recall many times when someone came back to me and apologized to make it right. It rarely happens. I'm in big trouble if my well-being hinges on someone apologizing and making something right again. I thank God that this is not the case. There is hope for all of us who suffer this way.

It was the strangest thing. A few years ago, I was all bent out of shape worrying over several personal situations when my urge to feel vindicated suddenly drove me to read God’s Word. I wanted to take God’s Word and find passages that proved my right and someone else's wrong. Sad, isn’t it? Though sad as my intentions were, I’m glad I read God’s Word. God knew me and knew how to use that situation to teach me what the cure for feeling hurt really is. Please pay attention to whether what I went through sounds familiar to you. Here is what I learned.

Love Soothes Hurt Feelings

"And above all things have fervent love to yourselves, for love will cover many sins. Be hospitable to one another, without grudging; each one as he received a gift, ministering it to yourselves as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." (1st Peter 4:8-10 MKJV)

"And most of all be warm in your love for one another; because in love there is forgiveness for sins without number. Keep open house for all with a glad heart; distribute among one another whatever has been given to you, like true servants of the unmeasured grace of God." (1st Peter 4:8-10 Bible In Basic English).

"If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap material benefits from you? If others enjoy this right over you, don't we have a stronger claim? But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with everything in order not to put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ." (1st Corinthians 9:11-12 ISV)

I have yet to meet a person who did not ever sin or whom I did not disagree with on something. If I have a relationship with any person, it’s practically guaranteed that they will eventually do or say something to which I could take offense. It happens. It will always happen. Realistically, we should expect it to happen and be prepared to deal with it in a way that will heal and cure us of those offended feelings.

God’s Word tells us to love one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins/offenses. If we do our part and are willing to put up with them, whatever they do or say to us will be covered over by OUR love for those who hurt our feelings.

How to forgive someone who hurt you in a relationship

" False balances are hateful to Jehovah; but a just weight is His delight. Pride comes, then shame comes; but with the lowly is wisdom."  (Proverbs 11:1-2 MKJV)

"He who handles a matter wisely shall find good, and whoever trusts in Jehovah, happy is he." (Proverbs 16:20 MKJV)

"Before shattering, the heart of man is proud, and before honor is humility." (Proverbs 18:12 MKJV)

"Likewise, younger ones, be subject to older ones, and all being subject to one another. Put on humility. For God resists proud ones, but He gives grace to the humble. Therefore be humbled under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your anxiety onto Him, for He cares for you. Be sensible and vigilant, because your adversary the Devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour; whom firmly resist in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions in the world are being completed in your brotherhood." (1st Peter 5:5-9 MKJV)

According to Proverbs 18:12, broken hearts are caused by pride. Not by the pride of the person who hurt us but rather by our personal pride. So, if you’re complaining that someone broke your heart, you may want to consider humbling yourself! Sure, humble people get hurt a lot, but they do not continue suffering from brokenness like prideful people.

According to 1st Peter 5:5, we are each subject to other persons. Where I work, I am subject to what my boss tells me to do. So long as his orders are not immoral, illegal, or might cause harm to the company, I have to obey. It’s the same thing where I go to church. The pastor has authority over me there, too. As her husband, my wife is subject to me. The purpose of humility is just. Just as Jesus washed the feet of the disciples, we, too, must serve one another.

This is Biblical, so it must be taken seriously and applied rightly. Christ-like submission pleases the Lord. We should stop behaving so proudly and learn to submit to the authorities God has placed above us. If someone tells you they only have to answer to God for what they do and say, observe them closely. If it isn't broken already, you’re about to see someone’s heart get shattered.

A Right Relationship with Jesus Makes All Things Right

"Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been raised. As was his custom, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day. When he stood up to read, the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling the scroll, he found where it was written, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to tell the good news to the poor. He has sent me to announce release to the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to set oppressed people free, and to announce the year of the Lord's favor." Then he rolled up the scroll, returned it to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him. Then he told them, "Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."  (Luke 4:16-21 ISV)

Praise the Lord, O my soul; let not all his blessings go from your memory. He has forgiveness for all your sins; he takes away all your diseases; He keeps back your life from destruction, crowning you with mercy and grace. He makes your mouth full of good things so that your strength is made new again like the eagle's. The Lord gives decisions in righteousness for all who are in trouble. He gave knowledge of his way to Moses and made his acts clear to the children of Israel. The Lord is kind and full of pity, not quickly made angry, but ever ready to have mercy. (Psalm 103:2-8 Bible In Basic English).

"For if you forgive people their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if you do not forgive people their offenses, your Father will not forgive your offenses."  (Matthew 6:14-15 ISV)

Going back to my own personal situation, as I mentioned earlier, my search for God’s Word to prove myself right ended up exposing how wrong I really was. Don’t you just love it when God allows that to happen? What I learned was that my hurt feelings were allowed to stay and harass me simply because I unknowingly had allowed them to replace Jesus on the throne of my heart.

At that time, my mind was not on Jesus. My thoughts were selfish. I focused on all of my hurt feelings. I had allowed my hurt feelings and thoughts of retaliation to take prominence over my thoughts of Christ and my service to Him. Oh, wonder I suffered so much! Jesus could not access and heal me of these things because my wicked desires had brushed Him aside. Eventually, I began to see this and came under the conviction of the Holy Spirit regarding MY sins that I had committed against Him.

One reason I felt so miserable was because unforgiven sins cause us to be unfortunate persons. I had overlooked this! I learned that God does not bless unforgiven persons with peace of mind. God would be cruel to bless me when I had unforgiven sin in my life. In other words, I could have remained fat, dumb, happy, and lost had not God cursed sin. God loves me. God loves you, too. God wants us to have eternal life with Him. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. By His stripes, we are genuinely healed of our hurt feelings. The catch, though, is that we, too, must be willing to extend this forgiveness we receive to other persons. We MUST forgive, or else there will be no forgiveness for us.

Once I realized that I was bringing most of this on top of my own head, I began focusing on the example Jesus gave us. I started trying to forgive people as He does. By the time I had figured all of this out, it was hard for me to do. It is hard but not impossible since, with Christ, all things are made possible. I began working through practical steps of faith that expressed my desire to forgive. I trusted the Lord and took Him at His Word. The Lord honored this. He always honors this when our hearts are humbled before Him. It was not immediate, but not very long before I noticed I had no more hurt feelings regarding things past.

The story doesn’t end there simply because life and relationships continue. Dealing with people means that I will get my feelings hurt. So, this process of humbling myself and forgiving persons will never end until Jesus causes all evil to end. One day, Jesus will cause all evil to end. Until that day, we must hold fast to our faith in Christ and obey Him. We must make choices nearly every day to forgive or not. A right relationship with Jesus demands we be forgiving persons. A right relationship with Jesus liberates us from our hurt feelings!

When there is unforgiveness, sometimes a spirit of fear enters a person, causing anxiety, stress, worry, etc.

Fragmentation of Self From Sexual Abuse

What is Memory Fragmentation?

Learn how to recover from Sexual Abuse

Dissociative Identity Disorder. In its most extreme form, dissociating to deal with childhood trauma causes the self to fragment; as the self fragments, 'alters'--alternate senses of self with memories, identities, and consciousness--develop.

The child may not have any memories of the event that were so horrific that the child blocked them. A false pathway to peace to deal with the stress of the memory.

Complex trauma and dissociation

These are often horrific experiences where the child, out of a protective mechanism, 'splits off' and then another 'split' emerges that doesn't have to deal with the effects of the traumas. As this seemingly 'works' then, when there are more traumas in this person's life, another 'split' emerges with the exact mechanisms in place.

The person needs to deal with the beings that joined her during those traumatic experiences and then renounce them, renouncing them in the generations as well, and then have them cast out and close the door points. Please don't have the person focus on the traumatic experiences or recount them in detail, as this will only bring on more protective mechanisms.

I do not want you to come in touch with a part of you that’s not you and then learn to co-habit with it so you can have a better day. That’s unscriptural because the bible says he who the Son sets free is free indeed. And I have to stand for that, not some form of co-habitation with our problem. And because we come into… intellectual understanding of a spiritual defect, it does not mean we are free.

It just means we’re sharing time and space with something that is still not us. That’s why I’m not into integration and fusion in psychology. I don’t want to integrate and fuse the failures of the past into our lives for the future, and I break with it completely. And I’m probably the only one who ever has and does because even in Christian psychology, in the area of the fragmentation of the human personality, integration and fusion are the things of the past in the way they go. And I disagree.

In fact, the people that I’ve helped with fragmented personalities, including multiple personality disorder, are single-minded people, and the things of the past were not integrated or fused. They were removed. So that the person is exactly who God created them from the foundation of the world, and they are single-minded, not double-minded in fusion, nor do they even have to consider the aspects of the tragedies of their past that fragmented them; it's just a memory.

It has no bearing on their life, and that’s precisely where I come from, and our success and freedom are 2nd to none."

A person who forgets time finds things in their home, has no memory, or switches to something else usually has dissociative identity disorder.

The person who experiences horrific abuse through family or through witchcraft abuse needs deep biblical counseling and deliverance to overcome dissociative identity disorder and become whole again in their lives.

Ministry from Sexual Abuse Trauma

Deliverance from Sexual Abuse Trauma for Healing and Restoration

Learn what some of the Sexual Abuse Trauma Symptoms and recover from sexual abuse

overcome the pain of sexual abuse

Touch of God is a ministry of help to help the people in pain from sexual abuse to recover and thrive again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Be clear-minded and alert. Your opponent, the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1st Peter 5:8  (ISV)

Did you know that demons can gain entrance through acts of sexual abuse? While I was ministering to a lady, one of her demons manifested and bragged about how he got inside of her. "Children are so easy to manipulate!" he said. Upon further interrogation of this demon, it was learned that he had gained entrance through an event where her ten-year-old cousin (who had also been sexually abused) molested her. Cousins aren't the only ones demons can use to sexually harm their victims. Siblings, step-siblings, step-parents, other child friends, trusted adult neighbors, aunts, uncles, grandparents, complete strangers, and sadly, even some parents have been reported by the victims as being sexual perpetrators, too.

Sexual abuse is a standard means that demons can use to get inside of someone. It's said that one out of every five boys and one out of every three girls are made the victims of sexual abuse before they reach the age of eighteen. Just because the demons were successful in their entrance does not mean they can stay there.

Demons need strongholds comprised of unforgiven sins to remain. Demons start tempting the sexually abused to sin in other unrelated matters, too, so that other demons may enter as they did, thus making it harder to do away with them all quickly. It's my hope that this article will help explain the many demonic functions found so commonly in operation today in those who are being held captive by the demons of sexual abuse.

Overcoming the Spirit of Fear

Not only demonic spirits but a spirit of fear from sexual abuse trauma symptoms. A child may have anxiety, stress, and even panic attacks. Trauma is an open door for a spirit of fear to enter a person. A minister and/or counselor needs to help them overcome the spirit of fear. That means deliverance prayer from the spirit of fear.

The Demonic Functions Of Sexual Immorality:

How to overcome sexual immorality?

Sex-Addictions, Child-Abuse, Molestation, Bondage, Sadomasochism, Sexual Impurity, Lust, Blood Lust, Prostitution, Pornography, Sodomy, Homosexuality, Adultery, Incest, Rape, Seduction, Promiscuity, Whoredom, Hypocrisy, Fantasy, Worldliness and Jezebel. When a child or teen goes through sexual abuse trauma, it also opens the door to confusion. If they are very young, it wakes them up sexually.

I therefore urge you, brothers, given God's mercies, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to God, for this is the reasonable way for you to worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but continually be transformed by renewing your minds so that you can determine what God's will is- what is proper, pleasing, and perfect. Romans 12:1-2  (ISV)

Just because someone was sexually abused does not make him or her a sexually immoral person. None of us would dare blame a child for being sexually abused. It simply isn't their fault. Over time, though, the demons who entered from sexual abuse will try shaping their victim's life to cause them to be the kind of person who once sexually abused them. It's reported that 80 percent of persons who sexually use children were at one time sexually abused themselves during childhood. This is just one of many reasons we should renounce the sins others committed against us.

Demons aren't always successful in making a sexually abused child turn into a sexual predator, but they do often succeed in causing the child to live an immoral lifestyle. A sexually abused child can grow up and be prone to view pornography and be willing to participate in fornication. In extreme cases of sexual abuse, some even become addicted to bondage / sadomasochistic sex. Whenever someone comes to me with these behaviors and is seeking help, I investigate what happened in their childhood to look for the events that opened the door and allowed demons to violate their souls.

It's not always that direction. Some victims of sexual abuse trauma have no interest in sex. They may become frigid and not able to perform sexually after marriage.

God is not the author of confusion.

Isolation, Disbelief, Deception, Perversion, Mischievousness, Vulnerability, Deceit, Paranoia, Doubt, Amnesia, Unbelief, Skepticism, Denial, Indecision, Unrest, Impatience, Hopelessness, Lies, Half-Truths, Distrust, Dishonesty, Indolence and Procrastination.

Given the chance, demons will take advantage of any ungodly situation. When a child has reported the abuse, and nobody listens, you can bet the devil will use it against the victim. Denial creeps in, and along with it, confusion and deception. Then, the concept of love and acceptance is perverted. In cases where a caregiver sexually abuses a child, over time, the demons convince the victim that the sex is some show of affection. Demons try perverting the concept of true love to make it into what God calls ungodly. They do this to maintain a place inside of their victims.

Persons who have been abused by their parents and guardians may not understand how anyone could care for a God who is called our Heavenly Father. This distorted image of fatherhood turns them off to that concept. One such person I know would not call God her Father, although she had been going to church for years, had made a profession of faith in Christ, and had partaken in believers' baptism. She would speak so lovingly about Jesus, but in regards to confession that God was her Heavenly Father, she would become suddenly angry and ill.

Demons attempt to instill doubt, skepticism, and unbelief. In extreme cases, some persons even boldly deny that God exists and will get angry at anyone trying to tell them otherwise. I'm often asked these questions: "Where was God when I was being abused as a child?" and, "If God exists, why didn't God stop the person who hurt me before I was abused?"

Nearly everyone who has ever counseled the abused hears these questions and many more like them. My answer to these questions is God was right there telling the abuser that what they were about to do was wrong. Believing He allowed it to happen because He doesn't always override a person's free will. I then point out to the victim that God was the only reason we ever survived these situations and that He has a plan to heal them, which is perfect and acceptable. Often, when reminded that God helps us all in many situations, most of these victims can look back at life-threatening events and confess that only God could have been the one to keep them from certain death.

Indecisiveness and procrastination are also the deeds of demons. Phrases like "I can't forgive them today, so I will wait until tomorrow or next week" and "I want to wait and see how I feel tomorrow before I accept Christ" are both indications the devil has been at work. Even when someone believes in Jesus, it doesn't necessarily mean they won't drag their feet and fail to receive Him as their Lord and Savior. Even though they must do so, the old habits of putting things off want to prevail. Prayer, patience, and unconditional love are often the only tools to continue ministering to these victims. God will grant them wisdom and strength to make all their decisions if they trust and have faith in Him instead of the devil's tricks. Good things are promised to the believers; reminding them of that will help.

The Demonic Functions of Fear:

Anxiety, Insecurity, Panic, Selfishness, Nightmares, Paranoia, Sensitiveness, Worry, Insomnia, Insecurity, and Flashbacks trigger reactions.

trauma-induced anxiety disorder

The devil has two primary weapons: deception and fear. The trauma-induced anxiety disorder such as panic attacks. Nearly everyone I know who has suffered from the bondage of sexual abuse is afraid of something. Afraid to speak the truth openly. Fearful of the dark. Afraid to sleep because of the nightmares they may have. Afraid of flashbacks. Afraid of marriage. Fearful of being alone. Afraid of parents. Afraid to remember. Afraid they will never forget. Afraid they won't be accepted. Afraid to trust again. Afraid to love anyone ever again. Afraid of food. Afraid of being without food. Afraid to be baptized. Afraid of men. Afraid of women. Afraid of authority. Afraid of pastors or other clergy. Afraid to change. Afraid to go against the will of the demons who have ruled their lives for years. Afraid to forgive someone or afraid to forgive themselves.

Symptoms of Anxiety and Fear

Fear causes the victim all kinds of problems. If you're afraid of something, you'll be paranoid that what you fear will happen or will not happen, whatever may be the case. Then, you'll worry about it. You'll get so stressed out you may become anxious and even panic. Then, you suddenly find you cannot sleep well. Without adequate rest, our bodies cannot digest food properly, which causes our cells to be unable to receive the energy and nutrients they need. Our bodies also need sleep to heal. Nerves become unhealthy, and then we become depressed. A person not sleeping well is heading quickly towards physical problems such as sickness, disorders, and disease. Jesus said that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, and fear is often a weapon our enemy uses.

I've even seen fear cause people to rely on themselves more than the Lord; just consider how dangerous that is! Fear directly results from a lack of faith and trust in God. The apostle Paul asked, "If God is for us, who can stand against us?"

Overcoming anxiety with God

Jesus said that God knows the number of hairs on our heads and that not even the sparrow falls without His knowing. Jesus also told us to not allow ourselves to be afraid or worry. The commandment "Do not be afraid" occurs more in the Bible than in the other commandments.  In the Bible, we read, "Seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added unto you." Going for long periods without subjecting our fears to God's Truth is not good. Bible study, prayer, and the perfect love of Jesus is what causes our fears to go away.

The Demonic Functions of Bitterness:

Jealousy, Rejection, Rebellion, Witchcraft, Envy, Suicide, Malevolence,  Self-Mutilation, Masochism, Warcraft, Violence, Sadism, Murder, Death, Gossip, Destruction, Self-Destruction, Anger, Rage, Hatred, Self-Hatred, Retribution, Retaliation, Resentment, Revenge and Unforgiveness.

So put to death your worldly impulses: sexual sin, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry). Because of these things, God's wrath is coming to those who are disobedient. You used to behave like them when you were living among them. But now you must also eliminate anger, wrath, malice, slander, obscene language from your mouth, and all such sins. Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old man with its practices and have clothed yourselves with the new man, which is being renewed into full knowledge according to the image of the one who created it. Where this happens, there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free person. Instead, Christ is all and in all.  Colossians 3:5 -11 (ISV)

The demonic clinchers are bitter and unforgiveness. I know many people attending church and witnessing the loss but have yet to forgive someone. I've also noticed that it's a cycle where the devil continually sends persons against them and engineers further hurtful situations. Do you know anyone who always seems to go around feeling hurt? Have you noticed that some seem to get their feelings hurt regularly? Have you ever wondered why? Unforgiveness and bitterness are just as bad as lust and witchcraft are. Persons who are being held captive by the devil cannot be set free until they give up their right to be bitter and make the conscious, willful choice to forgive everyone. Remember, God has said He cannot absolve us of our sins if we refuse to forgive someone else.
